In the Schinkel Pavillon Manfred Pernice presents a diverse conglomeration of partly self-constructed, partly found and assembled objects, whose combined meanings extend outward to implicate the surrounding city and its historicity. The installation is a construction zone, as much a sketch as an artwork. The form of the can as a vessel for mental possibilities appears in different sizes and with different functions. In between: the daily items of a bourgeois and socialist world, hexagonal tables and refuse packaging.
